Change social security rate
ProSerieshow do i change the social security rate for employees if i don't subscribe to a payroll service.

Go to Payroll items, select SS employee, double click and click next to 4th screen and you will be able to change employee % to 4.2.
If this does not work please advise what you run into.

When I get to the 4th screen, I am not able to change the figure there. I have tried right-clicking and double-clicking...nothing happens. Thanks for trying though!

You should never be allowed to edit this field.
Click on Employees and select "Get payroll Updates" to get the latest tax tables.

How are you doing payroll now? If you are doing it manually, are you calculating the deductions?
If you do not have an Intuit payroll subscription, you will not be able to update the tables.
