Have you completed the QuickBooks Proadvisor course?

You'll laugh at me, but I started the course and became so busy with QB Clients, that it wasn't finished by the time the renewal date came around (I didn't renew).

Is your certification solely through QB? Or, are you affiliated with any other programs?

I am in RI.

I got my QuickBooks Certification and plan on keeping it up.

I looked into other programs, but have found that I have enough to do to utilize what I already know.

This msg board, as well as the Articles & Tips has helped tremendously. . .as well as reading and trying new ideas all the time!!

I work with a team of CPA's. . when I asked them if I could do more training on company time, they indicated that they thought I was qualified enough as it was. . and that was last year. . .I have learned so much since then. . .every day, it seems!!

I would be interested in what you have come up with regarding certification. I also recently downloaded information from AIPB and was looking for all options. I'm in the San Diego area and I checked with the testing center in San Diego as to availability of testing times, and they were very current, just a few days lead time to take a test. It seems to me that AIPB had a lot to offer in regards to free forums and Newsletter Tips. I have not yet researched the cost and availability of CPE seminars required to keep up the certification. I lightly looked into the QB Advisor certification and it seems very different. I absolutely have nothing to do with AIPB, but am still researching myself. If you're interested, let me know what you come up with, and I can vice versa.

I agree 100%.....that is why I am searching for a really good Certified Bookkeeper's program, because of seeing the limitations in my knowledge. Just from two years of doing this steadily, it seems one needs to have a balance of QuickBooks knowledge, day-to-day bookkeeping, and as much Accounting as possible.

Hi Joey,

That's what I was beginning to understand when I started to read about QB Advisor. I have been doing bookkeeping for 15 yrs with QB, have completed a number of accounting classes in college, and thru experience and working very close with 3 CPAs have gained knowledge to go further and are looking to complete a certified bookkeeping program.

I think the question at this point in time, for me, is AIPB reputable and the program best for me, or should I research further into other programs. I also understand it would be to my advantage to, in addition, complete a certified QB Advisor.

I just want to do bookeeping for starters. If I do not use Quickbooks (by the way you use QB Accountant... correct?) which is the next best software you know?

That is the best advice! thank you, I was looking so forward to getting certified because I absolutely love the program and feel I am really great at it however, I know I could use the support and training in the True Basics of Bookkeeping, even tho we have all been using the program and are comfortable with it, I still look at the financials in question.
