Hi Salomonis,
What card reader of our are you using for your Samsung, the "white" or "grey" reader? The Samsung Galaxy S II was not compatable with our first white reader but is compatable with our new "grey" reader. That might be why you are having an issue with the reader being recognized. Never the less, you can go to our gopayment support site at www.GoPayment.com/support and type in "Card reader not working properly with an android device" to try some of our troubleshooting methods to get your phone to recognize the reader. You can also call our merchant services team at 800.588.9558 for phone support if you would rather a representative walk you through the troubleshooting process.
On the other hand if you do have the old white reader, you can call our merchant services team to get the grey reader, for free, since your current phone is not supported with our old reader. The new grey are not being sent our until February 7th because they are on back order, but if you decide to call and request one we will put you on the list to have one sent out.
If you have any other questions please feel free to ask :)
Hope this helps!
Hi Danielle,
I regrete to inform you that in fact it is the "grey" card reader, and to avoid any misunderstanding the full name o the phone is the Samsung Galaxy S II Epic Touch 4G from Sprint. Yesterday I did speek with one of your people from tech support and we concluded that this phone is not support by your software and there is not knowlege if it will be any time soon, if you have any other take in this issue let me know.
Hope you can help me!
Hi Salomonis,
My apologies. The Epic Touch 4G is not compatable, you are correct. There are so mant different versions of the Samsung Galaxy phones it's hard to know which ones someone is using. But they representative was correct in what they advised you. At this time we do not have any knowledge of when that specific phone will be put on our compatable list or not. You can always stay up to date with our phone compatibility at www.GoPayment.com
Thank you for informing us that this reader is not working with the Samsung Galaxy SII Epic Touch 4G. We will add this to the list of phones to look to support in the near future. It should be noted that we support the Samsung Galaxy Epic 4G (SPH-D700)
Yes, but not the Samsung Galaxy II Epic Touch 4G (SPH-D710), so your note does no help me at all, thank you any way.
I have the SPH-D710 as well and am having the same issue. It works fine with my Galaxy Tab 10" however, so I'm not dead in the water, but of course the Galaxy Tab is Wi-Fi only so I have to tether the tablet first to my phone to be able to use it if there's no Wi-Fi hotspot nearby.
Hi ctotogo
Are you able to tether your tablet from your SPH-D710, what software are you using if you do not mind?
I'm using the Sprint HotSpot that comes with my plan and paying the $30/mo over the $10/mo premium data charge in order to do so. The HotSite capability lets up to I think 8 external devices over WiFi attach/tether to the phone and share its internet connection.
oh man.. I just bought the Samsung Galaxy II at TMobile for $600 ONLY because it was suppose to work with GoPayment according to the list! I'm really hoping that it does work with TMobile's "plain" Galaxy II", but so far it's not reading it.
..there was a message on the phone saying that I must enable in settings, which I haven't figured out yet. Maybe that solution will help others who come across this thread.
Hi jbiintlinc,
When it tells you to enable the reader in your settings what you need to do is press the "menu" button on your phone WHILE IN THE APP. That should bring up additional menu options in the gopayment app such as settings, get paid, history, and sign out. Select the settings option and in the page you will be able to enable the reader.
Just to verify, do you have the Samsung Galaxy II "Epic Touch 4G"?
Let me know if you have any further issues getting your reader enabled!
Sweet.. figured it out. On the Intuit Go Payment APP when signed in at settings.. it appears as if it's grayed out and just saying No Device. Usually you'd assume this means it can't read a device to provide an option yet.. however, you just click the check box and then choose reader shows up -- and it works!!!
TMobile is simply "Galaxy S II" 4G, nothing mentioning Epic Touch.
I guess I was just confused by the grayed out check box where I would have assumed the options would have shown before clicked what appeared to be a "dead" check box if it actually saw a device.
Anyways, I can confirm it works for TMobile / Galaxy S II 4G :)
Hi jbiintlinc,
Perfect! Glad to hear you were able to get that enabled :) Galaxy S II working just as it should. If you have any further questions don't hesitate to ask!
Hey,
Please can you tell me if you have a date when this will be available for the Galaxy Epic 2 Touch D-710. I just got this phone and just started gopayment. I really need this to work. Is there some kind of update I can get or something?
Actually SkyB, Yesterday afternoon I test the "Grey" card swiper on my Samsung Model Number SPH-710 from Sprint and it work perfectly, I think is good to mention that when I post the question originally my phone had running Gingerbread EK02, now is upgraded to EL29 and is working. Hope this info can help you,
The card reader does not work on the LG P505 model AT&T phone. This is my second device. I have completed the troubleshooting process, and it did not help. I will continue looking to find a product that does. I will not change phones.
I have a US Cellular Samsung Galaxy, the first one its a SCH-I500 model
hardware Version I500.04
It's on the list for compatability. Card reader is on and selected but it doesnt ask to swipe card just keeps trying to connect. except on the first try of the app. I've uninstalled a number of times and the first try it reads the connection and asks for a swipe. then i swipe and it crashes program shuts down and it doesnt ask for a swipe after that ... re-installed 5 times
