To cancel your Intuit merchant account, call Customer Support at (800) 558-9558.

That does not work! I am being directed to the customer retention department and there is an automated service telling me about a fax number that does not work and an address so quickly that I am not sure I got it right.
Anyway I stayed on the line to speak to a representative, the first time I was thrown out of the line after waiting for about 20 min. The second time someone answered and hopefully closed my account.
So: if you want to cancel your account don't press 1 when you get to the customer retention department because you have not had any sales for 90 days. Stay on the line to eventually speak to a representative.

Yes, and they do not make it easy! Be sure to call before 4:00 PM PST! They only work part time.
