Can i set up quickbooks to use windows live mail?

Yes, with 2011 you can customize to send it thru your own email program. You will need to find out the server names to set it up. Go to edit>preferences>send forms to enter that info.
we are using Enterprise Solutions 9.0
it gives the option to use outlook express or quickbooks email.
windows 7 does not have outlook express , it has livemail , we need to see if we can configure enterprise to use the livemail
You would have to use QuickBooks servers to use your Windows Live mail then. For QuickBooks 2010 versions and older, QB doesn't support pop3 email clients, just their own server or Outlook. So you will need to use Outlook and connect your email through that service. To use Quick Books server: Go to Edit>Preferences>Send forms and then check QuickBooks E-mail. Remember you will not get a copy of the email sent, so make sure when you are in preferences, you use your own email on the bcc line.
I don't have the option " quick books e-mail" under edit >preferences>send forms. I just updated to qb 2011 and am trying to use windows livemail to e-mail paystubs. any other options??
If you use quickbooks payroll, use view my paycheck feature for paystubs. Go to employee menu to find that feature or google it.

Hello Dennis,
No, the only way to email in Quickbooks is to use Microsoft Outlook.
You could save the document in PDF Form and attach it to your email.

Your Live Mail simply is a program interface for an email account you have elsewhere.
QB 2011 uses the Web Based mail as a service. it doesn't open Live Mail as a program but you can use web based mail now.

In QB 2011 you can use webmail -- google, yahoo, hotmail or configure your own email. As Lynda said, go to Edit > Preferences > Send Forms > My Preferences to set up the webmail account.
I have easy start edition of QB 2011. The preference option doesn't exist under <<edit>> and the preferences options under <<file>> does not include any email option. Any suggestions in using Windows Live Mail with Easystart edition?
Maybe you have a non-US version -- there is no Easy Start in the US and there is no Simple Start 2011 for the desktop.
I'm using QB Enterprise 10.0. When sending invoices thru Outlook, the recipient cannot open the file sent. The file sent is not a PDF, so we are having to re-send all of our invoices. Is there a setting that needs to be done in QB for the files sent to be pdf's?
