Can I e-file Form 1040 w/ PDF attachments
Can I e-file Form 1040 in Lacerte with PDF attachments for brokerage stmts? I see the option in the 1120S module, but not in the 1040 module.

It's not in the 1040 module, because, among other things, IRS doesn't have such a thing yet for 1040's. Don't hold your breath for next year, because I understand that even though IRS might supposedly OK "modern" e-filing for 1040's next year, Lacerte will wait until IRS works out bugs, before they bother to support 1040-"modern" e-filing. Can't say I blame Lacerte, with some of the ineptitude I've been hearing about regarding IRS these days.

No, since the 8453 is used to paper transmit the extra documents.

BTW, I searched "1040 PDF attachments" in the box above and found several answers.
If you use Pro Series Basic I might not be able to help you. If you use Turbo Tax I might refuse to help you. All others, watch out! ;-)
