california trust return form 541
Line 1 b on the California 541 form says to put the name of the grantor of trust. But when you put the name it says the line should be blank. What should I do?

You enter that information on Form 1041 and it carries over to Form 541.
Hi Charlotte
Where on the 1041 would I enter that info? Thank you so much
Does anyone know where on the 1041 that the name of the grantor is put?
I think this is a glitch in the CA 541 program, it was there last year also. If you leave it blank it gives you an error, if you fill in the blank it gives an error. We just ignored it and filed the returns by paper.
Thank you. I did that last year and was hoping it'd get fixed this year. Charlotte256 said last year to enter the information on the 1041 but she didn't say where. I looked but could not find that field.

Form 1041 has a note, that for Grantor trusts, you must fill out the Grantor Statement.
