CA reject code X0000-010

ProSeries : 2010

California Corp return rejected with EFile reject code X0000-010. How to fix?  Suggests program not updated, but I updated prior to conversion and efiling.  Appears ProSeries is not submitting files to FTB in proper format.  How can this be fixed NOW?

I don't see a suggestion in the knowledge base for a corp return but see it either of these partnership return tidbits help.

California Partnership Error Reject Code X0000-010 (Form 568, XPath:.../MemberInformation/Individual) Description Your California Partnership LLC tax return failed validation and was rejected with Error Reject Code X0000-010, which states, "Your State returns does not match the latest published FBT Schema or is not well formed..."   The Field Number/XPath referenced: /CA-Return/CA-ReturnData/CAForm568ScheduleK-1/MemberInformation/Individual. Solution Description The reject condition may be due to the K-1 recipient's Last Name not being present in the Schedule K-1.    For each Schedule K-1, verify each Member's identifying information is complete.  If the Last Name field is blank type in the last name of the K-1 Recipient.    You may then save and retransmit the tax return as normal.      California Partnership Error Reject Code X0000-010 (Form 568-LLC-ReturnHeader/Officer/Phone) Problem Description

Receiving efile reject code X0000-010 for a California Limited Liability Company stating that version is not current or FTB Schema is not well formed.  Program does not find any new updates to download when prompted.

Solution Description On March 2, 2009, California is making changes to what is allowed for electronic filing. You should look for an update that mid-week before re-filing electronically.  If you received this reject, review the following:
  1. Make sure you are using the most current California Partnership version and run final review, removing all errors in the return before transmitting.
  2. Verify that Business phone number is on the California Limited Liability Information Worksheet with 10 digits and that it has flowed to signature line at the base of page 1 of Form 568.
If this answers your question please click, um, ok I forgot what you are supposed to click. If this answered your question, how about just saying thanks and we will call it good.

I saw that issue when searching this question.  I have essentially the same error on the Form 100 (CA Corporation return).  I had updated the program prior to converting and transmitting the return in question.  It is the only CA Corp return I prepare so do not have the opportunity to get the error on other returns.  I do prepare several Forms 565 and have successfully efiled those returns.

I suspect that either Pro Series does not have the proper format required by the FTB, or the file transmitted was corrupted in the process.  I have submitted a technical support request by email, but is there a phone number to get somebody at Intuit on this right away?  I don't want to tell my client they will have to file a paper return because the tax program I use is a piece of [removed].  Doesn't exactly inspire confidence in your CPA.

Thanks for your help

Is the Federal Info Worksheet marked to e-file CA? If it is, run error check on both Fed and CA.

When anyone doing nothing needs help, I will gladly help that person do nothing.

Yes, it was checked--it wouldn't have converted and transmitted the return if it hadn't been.

I'm just hoping the first file transmission was corrupted, I have re verified it and retransmitted it last night--I hope that does the trick.

If it rejects again, I would print out a copy of the reject paperwork so that you have proof of timely electronic filing.  If PS can't get this immediately corrected, paper file along with the electronic postmark so it won't be perceived as late.  When things are this close to deadlines, I would never put in an email request for help.  Call support 800-434-6818.

I retransmitted it and got the same result.  The so-called solution in entering the year digits as 4 digits does nothing to fix the error--the year digits convert to 2 digits when you press enter.  I think Intuit has an error in their E-file schema for the CA Form 100.  Either that, or my particular return has some fluke anomaly somewhere in some data field that ProSeries review and error checking process doesn't detect.

Luckily, the extended due date of the California Corp return is Oct 17th, so I have time to try to correct it through Intuit or file a paper return and still be on time.
