Important Announcement! A planned system-wide upgrade will take place over the Memorial Day Weekend in the US (From Thurs, May 24, 2012 at 6 pm PDT thru Tues, May 29, 2012 at 5 am PDT). This includes QuickBooks, QuickBooks Payroll, Point of Sale, & Salesforce.com. This is only for US based products. This does not affect QuickBooks Online customers! During this time, you can shop, but can’t place orders online, activate products or update account info. We apologize for the inconvenience & thank you for patience while we improve our infrastructure to better serve you. International versions are unaffected. You don't "Need" one but they are relatively inexpensive and could help the professional image of your company.!

You could also purchase an email domain name and then just have it forwarded to your yahoo account - so there is no change in the way you function! The only difference is the email your client sends mail to!

Need more help with training or customizing?
Hope this helps!

This would lend a little more professionalism to your business image, which I think matters in this competitive world! I would suggest you look into Google mail for business. If you own the domain name then they can set you up with a matching email. Not sure of the cost because mine is included in my monthly website costs, but it is what I use.

I agree with Mel and Reesa.  It's cheap and easy to setup and does lend more credibility than an @yahoo.com address.

Check out GoDaddy (http://www.godaddy.com).  There you can register your domain name and setup your email in a few simple steps.  Their support is also very good if you run into a problem.  Their pricing is also very reasonable, but they are quick to try to upsell you with services you don't need.

Just tell them you want:

1. A domain name (private registration is not necessary, or worth the expense)
2. Email hosting (you can setup a website at this domain at a later point, you don't need web hosting.)

Cheers, Mike
