Dear Michelle, I just a minute ago received an answer on borders where you tell me to go to templates...then open layout designer but that is not working either, however when I print another type of receipt which comes in quickbooks as examples, the lines and borders print but not on the receipt I created. I already opened up layout designer and did what you told me but it is not working. please help.
In the layout designer, double click on the box you want a border around and it should bring up a properties box. Click on the borders tab and check the boxes for left, right, top & bottom to put the border there.
Then, when you are in the receipt window, make sure you select the appropriate template name.

DEAR Michelle, I found MY ANSWER!! what actually happened is that when you press print (as if you were going to print the receipt) to print the "receipt"-it first takes you to a subscreen were it gives you the option to make changes before you actually print the form. Anyway, there is a section were it says "Print on: Intuit Preprinted forms, Blank paper or Letterhead" you want to "select" the one that states "Blank Paper" because, if you remember, i had "created" a template using "intuits" form, therefore it was no longer an "INTUIT PREPRINTED FORM". Anyway, there is a section right below that which gives you the option to place a check mark were it says "Do not print lines around each field. Therefore, seeing that I had "created" my own template, I had borders already on them so there will be no need to have the borders placed again at this particular junction. Neverthe less, if the others are having problems with the LINES/borders, THIS IS WHERE they need to do the adjusting. Becasue what happened with my situation is that i had accidently marked "Intuit preprinted forms" when in fact the mark should have been placed on "Blank Paper" (with the "check mark" on "Do not print lines around each field". I hope this will solve all the problems as it pertains to "borders"
