Balances don't match
How can my register balance on a bank reconciliation not be the same as my cash balance on the Trial Balance? How can I fix the problem?

I am having the same problem. I did not even know that the MTD amount on the balance sheet should match the balance on the checking account statement (hard copy received each month for each account) for the same period after it included the cleared & uncleared items.

Those two are not meant to match, in most cases. Trial balance reports the balances based on the transactions entered as of certain date. The bank reconciliation shows the sum of all the previously reconciled transactions. Those two represent different data. Most the businesses have the transactions r that have not cleared the bank yet entered in the register. Most likely, you are running into that situation.

I have a client with the same problem. Their QuickBooks is a mess to say the least and the errors go back many years.
The REGISTER balance on the bank reconciliation summary does not equal the REGISTER balance as of the same date in the chart of accounts. These two SHOULD AGREE. I've seen many attempt to answer this question, but most do not really answer the question.
The bank reconcilation appears to reconcile perfectly each month.
How do I correct the difference? If I enter a journal entry to adjust the Register, I have to leave an uncleared transaction for that amount to reconcile.
A specific answer would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
I am having the same issue as LPrinceCPA and am having trouble finding the answer.
When I look at the bank reconciliation, the "register balance" does not match the balance on the balance sheet, and it also does not match the running balance on the register for that exact date.
