If you are using QuickBooks 2012, did you choose the correct method of paying?
We are using QuickBooks 2012. I discovered something new in the update for 2012. Under the list menu, customer & vendor profile lists, there is a list called payment method list and this is where the error was. For the payment method of cheque the associated type was shown as cash for some reason. Once this was changed to cheque it corrected my problem in the pay bill windows. Now in the pay bill window when the payment method of cheque is chosen and you click on pay the next window now allows the cheque number to be entered. The update to 2012 may have changed the cheque payment type to cash. I was unaware of this list previously and this is the only reason I can come up with. Thanks for your help. Problem is fixed.
