Apply a 10% Discount to a Customer or Invoice?
How can I discount a customer 10%, and how can I discount an invoice sub-total 10% without having to discount each item on the invoice. What are the steps in this process.

You can set discounts by customer by using price levels, but I don't think that is available in the Pro version. To put a discount on an invoice, you first have to use a Subtotal item to create a subtotal before the discount. Then add a Discount item, and it will apply the discount to the entire subtotal.
Thanks, I was trying to setup a 6% discount on some invoices for a customer and I used your subtotal trick and it worked for me.

If that customer always gets this discount, enable price levels (Edit, Preferences, Sales & Customers - in the Company Preferences tab select Use Price Levels). Then choose Lists, Price Level List and design/create the price level (in Pro you can only create price levels for customers, not for specific items). Now you can open each customer and apply the appropriate price level in the Additional Info tab.
If the customer doesn't always get the discount, use a Subtotal item in the last line of the transaction, then use a Discount item of 10% to discount the total of this transaction.
Hi Fred,
I have the same issue, and tried what you said here, but discounts does't show up anywhere. I have Quickbook Pro, and I would like to have different discounts for differnt customers. I would really apprecite if you could tell me how to do it. Thanks
