Important Announcement! A planned system-wide upgrade will take place over the Memorial Day Weekend in the US (From Thurs, May 24, 2012 at 6 pm PDT thru Tues, May 29, 2012 at 5 am PDT). This includes QuickBooks, QuickBooks Payroll, Point of Sale, & Salesforce.com. This is only for US based products. This does not affect QuickBooks Online customers! During this time, you can shop, but can’t place orders online, activate products or update account info. We apologize for the inconvenience & thank you for patience while we improve our infrastructure to better serve you. International versions are unaffected. For more info, see our community discussion.

Adjusting size of lower part of the screen

I downloaded the new 2011 lacerte tax program update and can no longer drag the bottom section of the screen to adjust the size. Is there another way to adjust the lower part of the screen?

I just updated, and my screen is the same size as before.  My suggestion to get rid of the "help-me" pane, if that's your problem:

Settings, Options, Setup
Around 10th line down, "Help-Me-etc," make it NO.
You'll only have to do this once a year.

I also suggest you make a desktop "Hints" file (or "Lacerte Hints" or "Computer Hints") and put this procedure into your hints.  Then you can refer to it next year and not even have to ask again or look for early-2012 references on the Intuit website.

On the line underneath the "Help-Me" etc line, there's a line about "input-error-checking."  You may want to set this to "no" if you're a fast typist.  Having it be "yes" slows down the program to a snail's pace.  You may also have to set it to "no" in all your modules, not just Individual.  (By contrast, setting "Help-Me" to "no" in any module, makes all of them automatically be "no.")

Back up before it's too late. For a professional answer, call Tech Support at 1-800-933-9999 (Lacerte)(other numbers ProSeries, QB, or TurboTax). I am a volunteer, not compensated or supported by Intuit.

Yup...me too, Seems like now you can opt to hide or open the help section, but you can't change the size. In my view, this isn't exactly an improvement.
