Our Accountant want to do our financial statement at the end of the 3rd quarter, he wants to do the inventory, etc. I asked him if it's ok to do it at the end of the year so we can save money, but he insisted to do it then. How many times does an accountant need to do the financial statement?
Do you have a bank loan or any other outside parties that have requested quarterly financial statements? What type of business is it and what type of entity? Are you a public company? When you asked to do it at year end why did the accountant say no it couldn't wait? If there is no compelling reason to have the accountant do a 3rd quarter financial statement with a physical inventory then just tell the accountant no. It is your business and you can decide. Remember the accountant works for you and there are other accountants you can switch to if needed. I would encourage you to discuss it more with your accountant but you do have the right to say no if there is no compelling reason.
