A new tool is available to help with common installation errors. It is attached to certain installation KB articles, listed below. The tool was designed to automatically repair .NET Framework and/or Windows Installer (MSI) system components and perform a hard drive installation.
The tool can be accessed from the following KB articles:
Error 1304: "Error writing to file [file name]. Verify that you have access to that directory."
Error 1603: “There was a problem installing Microsoft .NET Framework”
Error 1603: "The update installer has encountered an internal error" and/or "Unable to ApplyPatch" when installing a QuickBooks update
Error 1335: "The cabinet file [data1.cab] required for this installation is corrupt and cannot beused" or "The cabinet file [2] required for this installation cannot be used.
Error 1311: "Source file not found (filename). Verify that the file exists and that you can accessit."
Performing a hard drive installation of QuickBooks
Although the tool is currently only linked to these articles, feel free to use the tool for other calls that require the repair of Microsoft .NET, MSI, or a hard drive installation to resolve the issue.
