-6123, 0 cannot contact the database server restore doesnt work.

US QuickBooks Pro for Windows

-6123, 0 Quickbooks is trying to access the company file but cannot contact the database server on all 5 company files.QB Connection Diagnostic nor QB company file Diagnostic tools doesnt find problem.It appears the Network Data file could damaged.

Start with all the basics before concluding the file is damaged.

First off bring the file local to one of the workstations by copying it to the desktop, then attempt to open the file.  If the file does open when you bring it locally to your desktop, run a Verify and a Rebuild on the file. File>Utilities (then choose either verify or rebuild).

Make sure that none of the programs you are attempting to access the file with are set to hosting. In quickbooks go to File>Utilities, check to see if it says "Stop Hosting multiuser access..." if it does, select the option to stop. If it says "Host Multiuser access..." leave it as it is.

How do you run a Verify or a Rebuild without being able to open the file? Is there an external utility to do this?

No.  You can run the file diagnostic tool and see if it can repair some issues, take the steps that ralphmart is suggesting above, but if it doesn't help then the steps on the support page below are about your last resort before you have to restore a backup or send the data file in to be repaired:

I called Support yesterday and was told this was covered and there was no charge for help with this error. AVG anti-virus program new update blocks QB from opening even after entering exceptions. Marcelo helped me uninstall then he remotely reinstalled QB with AVG off I can open all company files now and remember to turn it back on after closing QB.

None of the tools found a problem when they were run. Support had to do a manual install and change where files downloaded to during reinstall to fix the issue.
