When will the correct 2012 FICA rates be available in QB
Hello,
Thursday, December 29th 2011 when you run your payroll updates FICA will be updated.
I hope this helps. Thanks and Have a Great Day!

This is Tamara from Intuit QuickBooks Desktop Payroll responding to your post regarding the employee social security rate for 2012. The Temporary Payroll Tax Cut Continuation Act of 2011 was just signed into law on 12/23/2011. As we normally do, we are working to update the tax tables to incorporate the change for the employee rate remaining at 4.2% for the first two months (January and February) of tax year 2012. The change will be incorporated in the payroll update coming out this week – scheduled for 12/29/2011. Look for an email from us this week with all of the details! You can also refer to this article for the latest information: payroll.intuit.com/support/kb/2000996.html
Tamara:
There is mis-information going around someplace. When I called the Payroll Support number on Tues Dec 27, I was told the 4.2% change would not be available until a Jan 15 2012 payroll update. I spent all of Tues afternoon and all of this morning contacting my clients about it and tellign them how to manually calculate the amount. Someone at Intuit needs to get their act together if the payroll support is syaing one thing and you are saying another. I look like a fool now to my clients because of Intuit!

Thank you for this information. I will look into this.
