2012 amt exemption amount

ProSeries

Did the amt income exemtion decrease from $74500 to 45,000 in 2012. I am trying to do a projection and their income is the same for 2012 as it was for 2011 of $123,000? Their marital status is married filing jointly

There is no 2012 AMT patch in place.  See this thread (and write your Representative):

AM: Deja vu.  Haven't we seen this episode before?  It's a classic, they rerun it just about every year!

The solution

This time it's every other year, but yeah, here we go again...

You have to love it. I will owe about $4,600 more if they don't "patch" it for 2012. Luckily for me, it's an election year, and we know the Republicans will push for it.

Thank you very much. I thought I was going crazy seeing such a low. If they don't change it there will be a revolution!
