Disclaimer - I don't do F 706's......but:
Are they 'year specific'? The one at IRS.gov shows as revised Aug 2011. ( http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f706.pdf)
I believe Lacerte has updated the software for that revision. And the IRS wouldn't normally have 2011 forms available in Sept of the same year anyway, would they. Am I just having a Monday morning?

Anna, yes they are year specific. Lacerte has the Rev July 2011 version which is for deaths in 2010.
The Rev Aug 2011 version at irs.gov is for 2011 deaths.
