Schedule J line 12 is calculating incorrectly for 2010. We informed Lacerte of this issue three weeks ago and the problem still has not been fixed. Lacerte should inform users of glitches so incorrect tax returns are not filed.
Is there any other forms out there that are not calculating correctly that we are not aware of? We shouldn't have to rely on other users, Lacerte should be informing us of these issues.
Angela, I looked into this. This was submitted to our tax developers on 2/3, so there mush have been a delay in the chain somewhere. They look to have this corrected in the next release. We strive to eliminate these kinds of calculation issues, but when they are discovered, we should do a better job of getting them into our knowledgebase. I'm going to follow up to make sure that is done as well. Thanks again, Bill
I had originally called Lacerte on January 14th to report the issue. I called yesterday (2/3) to ask when the problem would be resolved. So apparently my first phone call was a waste of my time.
Well don't consider it a waste. Depending on call volume, sometimes they don't get non-critical stuff written up as quickly. My apologies....
It may not be critical to you but for those of in the Upper Midwest agricultural region, this affects a large percentage of our returns. We understand that there is always going to be glitches in software but we are wondering why the users were not informed of the calculation error after Lacerte was informed of the issue. We would like to see an alert message so that others are aware of the issue.

Where do we view these "articles"? I read it by clicking on your link but how do we see such articles normally?
