A client uses QB 2009 pro and when they updated their program today, their data was lost. The program is ran on just one computer.
When the client opens his company file, it is completely blank.
I've read through the QB 2009 Release 9 Step-by-Step Update Guide by it does not help. How can I retrieve the data?

Yes, we've tripled check to see if we are using the correct file.
Client did not back up before updating so if there is any way to retrieve the data, it would be really helpful.
How could updating QB completely erase their data?
It is theoretically and practically not possible that QB will erase data while upgrade and there is no case known with this behavior. Can you please see if you can get any backup or any other copy of this file and try upgrading again. If nothing is available then please contact intuit technical support and send your company file to data services and give me your request id here.
