1040X form shows DO NOT FILE
When I print out the 1040X it has printed across it. DO NOT FILE-- search updating forms for Help. what do I do? to get rid of the DO NOT FILE and will it update a current form or do I need delete and redo the 1040X?

The 2009 Form 1040-X is not ready and probably will not be ready before April.
If you use Pro Series Basic I might not be able to help you. If you use Turbo Tax I might refuse to help you. All others, watch out! ;-)

It could be ready soon. The one on the IRS website is dated Jan 26. Someone in a real hurry could use that one.
When anyone doing nothing needs help, I will gladly help that person do nothing.

While the form is not ready, I prepare the 1040X in ProSeries, then type the info into 1040X at the IRS website. .
