Why is my clients Qb's file encrypted?

When my client backs up their acct's copy of QB's and sends it via our EFT site, we can pull it into our QB's, but get a message that says "When this file was sent to the Intuit Acct's Copy File Trsfr Servicer, it was encrypted for
security. Why?
