Hi we use Lacerte Tax (all versions) and we have a windows domain/terminal server. All licensing and maintainance is current on server and it is rock solid performance wise.We have 15 people locally working off the sever running DMS on workstations with no issues. The server is home to 8 remote workers at two diff remote offices throughout the region. The remote users use Lacerte , Creative Solutions/CS Filecabinet, Quickbooks and Phoneslips.creative solutions and filecabinet as well as quickbooks all have software printers added to the system that work fine for importing same as DMS.every time we attempt to print either via the Print to DMS feature or the DMS printer the software crashes with a useless error that has no valuable information at all even the support guys dont have a clue. the ability to print into DMS from lacerte or any other program works once (1 time) then server needs rebooted or else you get nothing at all or this error that means nothing. we have reinstalled we have giving admin access we have reindexed ana all that stuff.Do you have DMS working on a terminal server and what did you do to get it working reliably????Thanks in advanceDavid Lenk

Check your printers and faxes list. Look and see if you have DMS printers that say session as part of the printer name. If so delete them and try printing to DMS again.

Eric,

I also have a problem printing from DMS. We transfer all our tax returns into DMS from Lacerte, no problems. We have a peer to peer network. From every other workstation in the network we can print tax returns from DMS without any problems. When I print tax returns from my workstation to my printer,I get wierd characters in the forms and cannot use the printed forms. What is your fix on this?

Thanks.

This should already be fixed by updating to a version from most of this year, but as you have already given everyone admin access, have the users check in the printer preferences (start-printers-DMS-properties-printing preferences-destination) to make sure the default directory is set to "All Users" or equivalent directory where they all have read/write permissions.
