Word getting error message

When opening a word document directly from DMS, an error message appears (not 100% of the time but greater than 50%) telling us that the file is in use by another user. We know this is not the case. Closing word and trying again works sporadically. Anyone else having this issue? Seems to have occurred in the last week. Updated DMS and ran a data base maintenance. Seems to be a system wide issue between DMS and Word.

I have also received this error numerous times. My working theory is the because the new files take slightly longer to open, when DMS treats them like normal small files, but Word doesn't open it immediately, DMS pulls it from temp, and that leaves Word to treat the locked/missing file as if someone else is using it exclusively.

Keeping the database in good repair, opening the old (2003 and prior) format files, and having Word already open seems to greatly improve reliability.
