Is Lacerte Committed to DMS?

I wonder if Lacerte is committed to the DMS product. They haven't released an update since January (they promised one in July but it never came). The program seems unstable and crashes fairly often. The database has trouble when it gets of 5 gigs. I have had problems with the program crashing when printing to the DMS from Lacerte Tax. I have had problems with the program crashing while scanning files. Lacerte seems to launch lots of products (DMS, Trial Balance, Tax Analyzer, Source Doc, etc). But they don't seem to improve and stabilize the products. I understand they have dropped the Source-Doc product after one year. They haven't really improved the Tax Analyzer since releasing it.

If the DMS system isn't stablized soon, we may be forced to change tax systems.

Per the release letter:

What's New for 2007
New Ease-of-Use Feature: From the DMS Options screen, on the Folder Templates tab, you can now right-click in the "Sub-folders to Create for New Clients" list to cut, copy, or paste folders.

Performance and Stability: We have recently made considerable investments toward improving the performance and stability of the DMS product. Based on your feedback, we worked especially hard in the areas you requested, such as:

- Document retrieval and save times
- Folder template modification
- Viewing PDFs
- Scanning functionality
- Expanding and collapsing folders
- Navigating between clients
- Navigating from Client list to Deleted Items list

I also noticed that with a recent update (5.0.2) that you can now drag and drop files from Outlook to DMS. That's a nice touch.

I have had several problems with the recent DMS update version 5.0.2. Last year was sort of a breeze but the program crashes on my whenever i print to a particular printer. This version seems a lot more unstable than previous ones and i am also concerned on how committed Lacerte is to this program. We might have to look elsewhere for a dms type program in the new "less paper" world.

There is an update that is tentatively scheduled for next week, around the 28th. Hopefully any outstanding issues will be rectified.

Lacerte Guru...What is the status of fixing the DMS page rotate tool?

Several problems exist and range from nuisance to nuclear.
-Can only rotate 90 degrees at a a time.
-There is in no "page range select" or "all page" select as is existent in Adobe
-Rotate left results in right and vice versa (kinda like Alice in Wonderland...)
-Rotate left (or right) twice results in image erasure (this sucks!!!)
-No "undo" tool exists
