DMS will not fax with Vista operating system

After several calls to support they finally admit that the developers have not resolved an issue of using a printer fax driver in DMS to fax documents to clients from within the DMS data directory on a Windows Vista operating machine. To do so puts you in a spooling loop that never ends. The operation works on older Microsoft operating systems XP and 2000.Support had us reinstall DMS several times and delete registry files before we spoke to someone who knew an issue existed with Vista operating systems.Lacerte does not have a reliable method to inform their customers of faults and failures of their software developers. An auto manufacturer, toy manufacturer, food and drug manufacturer has a recall system. Why not hold software vendors to the same standard. If software is defective and no fix is available inform your customers so they can be better informedand make changes to get around the issue.
I agree. I wish Lacerte would let us know about any "software bugs" and what they intend to do to fix them.
Just for the record, it does work in Vista. I have been doing it without any problems in Vista Home Premium. Not sure why yours does not work.

It also seems to only work with a local modem, as it refuses to recognize the network fax/fax printer as a valid option. I wonder if it works with any other software/internet fax systems.
I use it with e-fax and find that a "fax machine" is now an obsolete tool in a true paperless office. Incoming faxes come into my e-mail as PDF attachments - drag and drop into appropriate folder in DMS. Doesn't get any easier. Outgoing is simple too - open document in DMS, click print, select e-fax 4.3 as the printer (make sure the "fit to page" box is checked) and it opens up e-fax with the document attached. You do, however, have to type in the fax number as DMS doesn't push it out to e-fax.
