I run my interior design business using QuickBooks Pro 5.0 on my iBook G4. Can I sync invoicing, purchase orders, time sheets generated on iPhone or Blackberry to my computer's QuickBooks program?

The 09 version doesn't have this feature so I doubt the 5.0 version does.

Submit your feedback to Intuit about why you need this feature so that it can be included in a future release.

You are on a very old release of QB. Any reason why you haven't upgraded to the 09 release?

I do not wish to use iPhone or Blackberry as my computer. Any invoicing, etc., created on one device needs to also occur on the other for accounting purposes. I have not upgraded from QuickBooks 5.0 because, so far, it's done everything I need.

To my knowledge, there are no iPhone apps that work with any version of QuickBooks for Mac. If there were any, they likely would not work with a legacy version like 5.0.

Christena.

I don't believe QB 09 Mac was built to support syncing with any iPhone apps but perhaps someone from Intuit can chime in. This is what I meant originally. You should check out the product page. The 09 release has a lot of time saving features which you'd likely find very useful. You will need to be on Leopard to use it. I can't recall if it runs on Tiger.

Good luck.

QuickBooks Mac 2009 has contact sync that allows you to sync customer, vendor and employee names and addresses with any other app that supports contact sync. This includes Apple's Address Book and an iPhone and, with the right software, almost certainly a Blackberry, too (I believe MarkSpace makes a BlackBerry conduit that syncs with Contact Sync but it may be part of the standard BlackBerry software suite - I don't know).

I really like the newer 2009 version which appeared around R4. The earlier versions not so much.

Time sheets, invoices, POs and such have not yet made it to the iPhone.

Biscotti adds yet another reason to upgrade to QB 2009 for Mac!

From the Help documentation:

"Carry your QuickBooks contact lists (customers, vendors, employees, other names) wherever you go by synchronizing with Address Book. Contact Sync syncs your contact information in QuickBooks with Apple's Address Book and your mobile devices.

"When you make changes in either QuickBooks, Address Book, or your mobile devices, the change is synced between the programs and devices. Once Contact Sync is set up, syncing is all automatic."

Contacts are the only thing that QB will sync. Nothing else.
