EasyACCT will not start on occasion

Apparently, one of my associates has been having this problem off and on for several weeks. Sometimes, without warning, EasyACCT freezes when it is opened. We'll get a splash screen, and it's at that point the program stops responding.This happens whether other programs are actively running or not, and nothing short of restarting windows seems to help.The only real clue I have is that, when this problem occurs, a certain program refuses to close, allowing the system restart. That program is "Microkernel Database Engine Version". Unfortunately, that's all I can seem to find on it, as the full title is cut off by the dialogue box's limited size.Any ideas?

It would be nice if tech support answered questions like this on this forum, but since they won't, here is a workaround that works for me. When your computer freezes up at the Easyacct splash screen, bring up Windows Task Manager by hitting Control-Alt-Delete one time. Left click on the Processes tab at the top of the window that pops up. Left click on the process W32MKDE.exe to highlight it, then left click on the End Processes button. This should enable you to enter Easyacct without rebooting. What this does is end the Btrieve engine process, which many Intuit programs use, sometimes in conflicting fashion.
