patch to allow more than one instance of easyacct

Is there some way to modify easyacct to allow more than one instance of the program to be running. We constantly need to look at related entities at the same time. In the past we used the DOS version or even the Windows version to do this.It seems like we've taken a step backward with the latest version. Just my opinion.

you are right we have taken a step backwards. I could print the financial statements in DOS and now with windows it tells the balance sheet is out of balance. Unreal. I talked to someone from EasyACC for over an hour and she just was not up to speed. Finally she told me to send her a file and that she would have to charge me. Unbelievable.

Change the 6th line in a file called c:easywsetup.lst file from AllowMultipleInstances=NO to
AllowMultipleInstances=YES

Save it and you're done. Of course, each time you do an update you'd need to change this again. Normally, It's not a good idea to have multiple programs accessing the same data at the same time. There is a bunch of stuff in that file and I'd only mess with that one line.

Since somebody who knew the answer decided to post it, some words of wisdom:
+Do not use the work-around with Peachtree, it is hard enough to get 1 instance of each to play nice; 2 Easy + Peachtree = death (always has, it was Intuit's original excuse for turning the feature off)
+Make sure your staff knows to wait a minute before restarting EasyACCT once closed, if the MicroKernel doesn't have time to close it will count as a second instance
+Anything you cannot do with two separate computers in the same client cannot be done with two instances on the same computer
+If you have network, client share, locked file, or any other stability issues, test to see if this is causing it before calling Support

Remember, officially they removed this feature, if it starts showing up under their incident reports then Intuit may decide to hard-code it off for next year.

PS ltportella - This is likely either an account missing, coded as the wrong type, or due to the program's tendency to round (particularly if segmented) without the slightest regard for clerical consistency.
