Dear EasyACCT team
You thank us for being loyal customers and I smile.
Yesterday I spoke to one of your associates: my problem is with the new updated windows version when I print balance sheet it shows a statement out of proof Yet in the dos version is OK. I spent almost two hours to no avail. This happened also 4 years ago and it was fixed within 10 minutes. Now I am told to send you the file (which I did) and it may take over 7 days (a long queue ahead of me which means many bugs maybe?) and I will have to pay for it. That is pay for something that clearly is a deficiency in the program. Please send me your reply so that we all can see that you really meant it when you said you appreciate our loyalty.
PS I have had EasyACCT for at least 20 years or so. If you really want to help me please call me at any time on 631 664-2484 leave message and I will call you back. I am desperate to print balance sheets for some 20 customers that are waiting for it.
Portella when you print the trial balance sheet in windows is it out of balance? If not then try making a new f/s.
yes it is out of balance when printing in windows yet it is ok when printing in DOS.
Last time you fixed it by switching around and renaming some of the format files, that I remember. Couldnt I just simply send you the file so you can see what I am talking about. If I have to pay (which I dont think I should have to) I will pay. time is critical for us accountants at this time of the year. Please help me and once again show all of us that you truly care. Clearly the new update is deficient as it does not print something the old DOS did and actually does.
Thank you.

I do not work for Intuit. I'm a user just like you, but I have been using the windows version since it was fully introduced. Is the trial balance out of balance when you print it. I'm not talking about your financial statements at all right now. I had a problem a few years ago when I switched to windows. I had to redo my f/s to fix my problem, but my printed trial balance was still in balance.

earlier today Nicolle from EasyACCT (she signed as Lacerte) sent me a concise and clear email and in five minutes the problem was resolved. I simple had to delete a formatd.*** file and then renamed the existing format.*** into formatd.*** do a file repair and voila, it was done.
I want to thank Nicolle for her assistance; she came through when I really needed her.

PS
milldawg, I also want to thank you for your time. Maybe we all should keep in touch and exchange tips and experiences with EasyACCT. Now I am trying to set up in Windows an automatic monthly provision for income taxes
Hi Nicolle
Not long ago you helped me and hope that you will come through again for me. I have contacted your associates with no clear cut answer much less resolution. The issue is very simple and straight forward. In the good old days of DOS (read until last December) I would process after the fact payroll by simply typing in the gross salary and the net salary and the difference I would put in FICA. The "dumb"(read smart compare to windows) DOS system would spread the figures correctly into Fica medicare, federal state and city tax. That was nice and NEAT. Today with the "smart" (read stupid compared to DOS) windows program the figures are not spread correctly because it skips state tax altogether. Can you help? I have talked to 2 or 3 persons in Intuit but nothing happened.
Thank you again

Do you have the (separate) box checked under Payroll's entry options (Alt-O, third tab) to also "adjust state/local/other tax to correct amount"? Adjusting the federal split must be turned off, but the state split must be turned on.
