I'm buying a new computer. What operating system should I buy for Lacerte 09  to run best? Windows 7, or Windows Vista?

For the older versions of Lacerte, that would depend on which version of Windows 7 you purchase. Windows 7 professional & you would need the download of virtual pc to run the older versions of software.

Hope this helps. If so please mark solved, if not please ask more questions. Thanks!

I did finally get to talk to Lacerte.  Lacerte 09 will run on Windows 7.  Prior year versions of Lacerte may find issues on Windows 7 and are best run on XP or Vista.  In my case I still have my old compter working fine for prior year use so I am going to go with Windows 7 rather than Vista for my new machine.

While Lacerte may run on Windows 7 I would advise you to wait until the bugs are worked out of Windows 7
