Need some help here; I'm on the beach!

OK, right off the bat, I get this screen, "Select an Installation Type." I've been Stand Alone forever, but this year it says "NOTE: You will not be able to print or e-file without a network license." What is THAT all about?

I had no problem with the install either and I am a stand alone.
We think it means only that you will have to be able to license it through the internet - which you obviously are connected to. Continue with your standalone install or wait a minute - we are installing and will respomd with any roadblocks if we hit them. Do you have any sun on your beach?

I think you need to get one of the ladies on the beach to consult with you on this problem, even though they may not solve the installation of the tax program there are other areas they could consult for you in
Thanks! I think I'll wait a few more minutes to see if anyone has any problems with standalone installs. I LIVE on a sunny beach, only there's no water. I've heard other folks call it West Texas.

It asksfor installation type , Did you select Stand Alone?? you to select stand alone??t If not that most likely is the problem and you may have to de-install and start again, I just did the standalone laptop and have no problem
That's not a sunny beach, that's a worn to dust, monotone, sand colored rock, except for the bright red fire ants. Still loading.....it seems that computer has been updated with someone else's license. One year I got licensed to a nice big outfit nearby. I could have had quite a few more seats for my license but I had support fix it right away. See why I am not prepared to trust Intuit's security as far as they would like me to? From the zip code we know the license is on the east coast - would they ever even notice? unless we caused some trouble?

I was just getting ready to leave for the beach to help you until I heard there is no water. The sunshine sounds good though.
I had no problems with my install and mine is stand alone also.
Archie:
I just installed it on my laptop which is a standalone and have no problems, also printed return

MJ,
I'm at the screen where I have to choose either network or standalone installation. Beneath the choice buttons is where it says, NOTE: You will not be able to print or e-file without a network license.

Nansea,
I just tried to report your insulting comments to the West Texas Tourist Bureau, but the line had been disconnected.

OK, I'm going forward. Let's have a collective holding of the breath for the next, oh, 30 minutes or so. Thanks everybody for the quick responses.

who is Nansea??????????????
I am. We have lift off on the laptop also, complete with bright yellow "don't use these not real forms yet!" notices.
I would never denigrate the Lone Star state - over half my family would disown me. Just tellin' it like it is, honey!

I had a different kind of difficulty with the install. Kept giving me Visual C++ errors. Fortunately, I had a great techie who spent 2 1/4 hours on the phone and remote control with me who resolved the problem. Way to go, Rory!
Success! One small step for an accountant; one great step for accountantkind.
Thanks, friends! You too, MJ.
