Balance Sheet out of Balance

I think I solved the problem with out of balance balance sheets.  The only way to make my balance sheet balance was to modify the report to display the columns by year.  My report then balanced.  I have to memorize the report because it's not set up that way.  I still need to find out how to set it up so that it always displays by year.  Let me know if this works for anyone else.
