Quickbooks is NOT connecting to internet. I'm trying to do some online banking, and I cannot. My internet connection is good, and my firewall is wide open (DMZ). SSL 2.0-3.0 enabled. I've seriously tried everything. Windows Firewall is off along with all others.
Initially I purchased QB Pro 2009 and the same thing happened. I uninstalled 2009 and rolled back to 2008 and same problem. I have 2 licensed copies of quicbooks 2008 and 2009 and their virtually useless. I'm running Vista fully updated. (I have never needed to upgrade to Vista SP1 and I WILL NOT seeing I've heard nighmare stories about it's dysfunction).
The funny thing is that it updates fine. So this situation has rendered me clueless. Used quickbooks for 6 years, never had this problem. Please help. Thanks.
You might try going to this Intuit web page and doing the test::

I am not using Vista, so I don't know if there is an issue with Vista that is creating your problem. I think you might need to contact Intuit Tech Support for assistance, unless there is someone else in the Community who might have a solution for you.

Thanks Andilee46,
Yes I've done this already. There are two test links on the "Direct Connect Internet" page and one works and the other doesn't.
Here are the results:
The two links:

DID NOTHING - I got the "webpage cannot be found" But I have windows firewall off and my router's firewall is disabled. All internet on my computer with all of it's applications is working except for quickbooks.

This took me to the main Intuit Support page. (not sure if it's supposed to do that)
I just don't understand why this is happening. It is seriously beyond me.. and I considered myself a power user... but I guess not... This is why I have a hunch it's something messed up with QB's.
I guess the question is this - are there any special windows Vista settings aside from the firewall and ssl settings that I need to know about? Is there an update from Micrsoft that fixes this that I don't know about?
Please help
Thanks
Nick
