Recovery Rebate Credit not Calculated

Client did not receive stimulus pmt in 2008 due to income in 2007. Had zero taxable income in 2008 but software did not calculate recovery rebate credit. IRS has informed him of additional $1,500 refund. Software glitch?

Mt Juliet is right that the system should calculate it correctly. Two questions - 1. did you load any amounts into the box for economic stimulus payment receivied? 2. Has the IRS calculated the credit correctly?

I used the Rebate Calculator at IRS website and came up with $1,500 so I believe IRS is correct. Where did you access the recovery rebate worksheet? When I access it in the "All Forms" section, the first question to answer, line 3, is locked and indicates that this is filled in automatically.

Actually all of the information should pretty much flow automatically. You should review the information on the worksheet to see what is different on the worksheet compared to the info you loaded on the IRS rebate calculator in order to find out what the problem is.

After you key in the information to the Fed Info Worksheet re the stimulus then save the return, close it then go back into it and then you should see the "recovery Rebate Worksheet" on the left where it shows you the forms being used for that client
