Quickbooks Advance Test - crazy

Are the questions in the same order for everyone? I do have to say I understand that the test needs to be hard but this is ridiculous. The wording on the questions are very tricky, a lawyer must have written them. As for the test question #17 payroll - First, the quickbooks file is wrong. The pay period is for 2007 and the check date is 2011 what's with that. Second, am I suppose to know CA state taxes? Third, I could be off a penny in rounding taxes how am I suppose to know that. I just wanted to voice my thoughts.

Keep in mind that these are sample data files and just focus on the question at hand.  So, if the dates look weird or you see something else wrong with the file, ignore it and just work on the question.

QuickBooks can calculate payroll withholdings for California and it does the rounding in the calculations.

Did you watch the quick video with study tips for the Adv Cert test?  Here's the link:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZPuZnOhyyR0

Ok I have problem with your answer.  If you want us to answer the question correctly in the real world, then the information we get should be correct.  Yes, I watched the video.  If the paycheck that was issued withheld Health Insurance then in the real world you would not withhold it again.  And why would the file be setup to not withhold payroll taxes if in the real world you have to withhold taxes.

Quickbooks needs to understand that accountants and bookkeepers do accounting correctly and you are giving us test to give you the wrong real world answers.  How are we suppose to learn from giving you the wrong answers and you telling us they are correct.

So I need to know do I do it the Quickbooks Advanced Test WRONG Way or the REAL WORLD way.  I have submitted my answers the correct way and I got the answer wrong.  Now What.

All I'm saying is to focus on the question and not the get hung up by the 2007 date--it is irrelevant.  And please do not give away too much information here in the community forum.

I know what you are talking about.  On that one question, I looked at what the previous check looked like for that employee.  There were two checks dated the same date.  But I could see what the problem was.  I'm having a hard time with FUTA calculations and job costing.  I know my FUTA and job costing so I'm totally frustrated trying to figure out what the correct answer is.  It's not what I know it should be!

scuba--I edited your comment.  We do not want to give away how to arrive at the correct answer on test questions.  I understand how frustrating it can be--I went through it myself.  But for the integrity of the exam, please do NOT post specifics.

The exam is challenging, but passable as evidenced by many people who have passed it.  So, please analyze the question, listen to the webinars again, and read the PDFs again if necessary.
