how to import from mitchell shop manager pos software to qb
Mitchell used to sell only their own add-ons and had crippled the export/import features. But if you can get a file exported you can almost always find a way to import into QB. It's a matter of matching the fields in the underlying databases of both and there are many 3rd party add-ons that will match the fields and do a smooth import into QB. First try asking Mitchell support and whatever they say, next try searching for QB add-ons, giving priority to those that have the Intuit Gold Seal. QB import utilities usually start at $99 and go up, but it's usually worth the savings in time and agro.
If you can export the data that you actually want for import into quickbooks, Mitchell knowledgebase has files on using Excel to import data from M. Shop Manager. They protect your valuable data with a password which is provided in the pdf or word file found here:

Once you can get your transaction data out of Mitchell, you have to get it into QB. One product which is $199 was recomended on this forum earlier in the year - Transaction Pro Importer 4.0 - info available at - www.baystateconsulting.com/pro...
I have never used it. What I would suggest is that you back up everything first and play with dummy back -up files of both your Mitchell and your Quickbooks files - Do not start off with your actual moving files. Test the programs using a (fully functional) trial version to be sure you can get what you want. You can also hire someone to test your system for you and implement a solution, or someone to build you one. Cheapest is spend a few a days, hours, testing it yourself. It may be like rebuilding a carburetor with one hand but it might be possible......
