Stop auto-account generation

QuickBooks Premier: 2010: Manufacturing & Wholesale

how do i stop QB from automatically creating the Cost of Goods Sold account when i add an inventory item. I have my own COGS accounts setup.

Merge your account into the one automatically created.  Then rename the remaining account.
