Default for billable/non-billable

I would like to set QuickBooks so items/expenses default to not billable. How do I do this?

Sorry, you can't set a default.

Thank you for your quick reply.  It is much appreciated.  Unfortunately it is also quite disappointing.  None of our items are ever billable.  Do you have any suggestions as to how we can keep this clean?  It is set this way because of a question I answered during setup?
