XP to Windows 7

ProSeries : 2008

Actually I have Windows XP, I want to buy another computer with Windows 7, it is possible to transfer the files 2008 from the external hard drive to Window 7 and transfer the files from 2008 to2009. Are these programs compatible?

the 2008 files will be in the 2008 program under 08Data. When you set up the 2009 program and start the transfer of 08 client files go to "file" "transfer" under item 2 it says "transfer from" which will allow you to select the files form the 08Data on the external hard drive. You should not have a problem. I transferred files from an XP computer  to one with Vista and had the 08 data files on a flash drive when I did the transfer and had no problem

If you will want to open the 2008 ProSeries client files in ProSeries 2008 on the new computer, I would follow the instructions in this article:

http://ptknova.intuit.com/self...

If you just want to transfer the information to new 2009 client files, Mt Juliet CPA's answer is complete.
