Can not print 940 and 941 reports.

For some reason I can not print my 3rd qtr 940 or 941 report. I am using EasyACCT. Why can't I print this report?

Can you print the form on your screen?  The reason I'm asking this is because I want to know if it is a printing problem or a program not functioning problem.

No it will not let me preview the form either.  I used to be able to preview the form but the last 2 qtrs I have not been able to preview  the form.  I can print my suta report, though.

A couple of questions: 

  • Are you getting an error message? 
  • Can you explain exactly what happens when you attempt to print (blank screen, numbers but no lines, etc)
  • Can you print the form from another company (you can even try the AAA Sample Company)?
  • What is the last year end date for payroll (as displayed in the Company Information screen)?

When I go to click to print, the hour glass acts like it is going to bring the form up but it never does.  I finally have to do a CRL-ALT-DLT to end the process for it tells me the program is not responding.

I am sorry, I didn't notice your comment.  If you can you print the form for other companies, it is data related.  Try these steps: 

-Run a data file index repair.

-Print a payroll journal for each month in the quarter (one month at a time).

-Attempt to print the 941.

If you are unable to print the 941 for any company it could be a program issue: 

-Do a file search for EZPRTSET.DAT and delete the file.

-Return to the program, at the Company Selection screen select File, Print Preferences. 

-Click Restore, All Report Categories.

-Try printing

-If the problem persists: Uninstall EasyACCT, keeping all data directories.  Reinstall the program.
