I have a sales receipt in POS that is a different amount from QB and what the bank shows as deposited from a credit card. Do I deposit the payment from make deposits, if so how do I correct the amount to reflect the same amount the bank statement shows?
Go through the normal procedure for making a deposit then add a line that goes to the Bank or Credit Card Charge account (whatever account you normally post the merchant fees to when you are posting them) for the amount of the difference (say $5.45) but enter it as a negative amount. Now your deposit matches the bank and you have recorded the merchant fee that the processor took out on the front end.
