Block preparer social security number on client copy
How can I keep my social security number from flowing to the clients copy of the return. I could always do it in past years, so I never bothered getting the IRS issued alternative preparer id.

Do you have a PTIN? It was created to eliminate issues like this.

Go to Tools and Options. Then choose general printing. From there, simply check box that says to print ID on filing copies only. Client copy and prepare copy will not have your ID.

I didn't bother with PTIN because I was always able to prevent my ssn from flowing to client copies. I guess I'll have to go that route since ProSeries eliminated my ability to do this.
