Remote tax prep

I am a Pro Series user. For the 2008 tax season my assistant will be preparing tax returns remotely from her home. I plan to scan client originals and for my assistant to have access to the scanned documents from her remote location. Then for her to prepare the returns and for me to be able to access the returns she prepared. Does anyone know if this can be done and if so, how? Thanks
Other than a network between her place and yours, and an online service, both of which I am unfamiliar, the only way I know of doing it is to email documents and files back and forth. You can send PS files via email, but I recommend a secure website for transferring files with personal data.
My website gives me a secure section, so clients can log-in and upload sensitive files.
If she will be working off hours, she could login to your PC using GoToMyPC.com or Webex. If you have scanned the source documents, she could use dual monitors to display the PDF file containing your source documents and the tax software at the same time. If she will be working the same hours, you would have to set up a network for her to login to and do the same procedure. I've used the ProSeries DMS for one tax season. I had little issues with using the software and was able to go paperless with all my clients source documents and preparer copies. I too have a website that has a secure client portal. CPA Site Solutions has great websites with loads of features starting at $49.99 per month. Hope this helps!
We use Gotomypc but are able to use one monitor flipping between back and forth between the windows. We also let the client in log in to us and prepare "live" and utilize cpa site solutions to send files to client or anyone else mortgage brokers etc giving the password to the client put privacyin the hands of the client
