How do I create a purchase order from the sales order window
I have QB premier. The down arrow for options only shows create invoice and customization. What needs to be done to show this option?

You need to edit the company preferences. You will need to be logged in as the administrator to change company preferences. "Edit", "Preferences", Sales & Customers, Company tab, check the box that says Enable Sales Orders
