I balanced my credit card statement last month and entered the bill for payment however I was only able to pay $50.00 towards the bill. The payment shows up on my Credit Card statement from the bank but does not show up as being paid on QB's
reconciliation. How do I correct this?
The credit card payments don't work very well with bills. You can change your original bill to be only for $ 50.00. This way you will be able to reconcile your credit card in QuickBooks.
I don't suggest setting up a bill for a credit card balance. If there is no bill, the amount you owe on the credit card will not be included in your accounts payable, but you will be able to check the balance whenever you want on the Balance Sheet or in the register. You can just pay the credit card with a check, giving the credit card account to post the payment to.
