I recently e-filed a 1040 and i filled out Form 9465 Installment Agreement Request before e-filing the return. Is this form submitted with the return or do i need to print it out and have client mail it in ASAP? Thanks.
If you completed the 9465 before e-filing it would have been sent along with the return.You can always double check what actually goes with a return by clicking on print preview.
What i wrote earlier sounds a bit confusing. I was trying to say that i e-filed the return, and i was trying to determine if the Installment Agreement Request was submitted electronically with the e-filed return.
I ended up mailing in the installment agreement request with a copy of the return, including writing on the front of the return that indicated it's a copy of a return that was e-filed and accepted on 4/15/08.
I think I knew what you were referring to. If you had opened and filled out the Instal Agreement form before e-filing your return it would have been included in your e-file return. You may actually them filed the request twice but IRS will probably figure it out.
