Thinking about next year. Very pleased with Basic for 3 years now. However, need the following enhancements: print to PDF, client letter like in proseries, document management system.Don't want to leave intuit after 15+ years, but I cannot afford to go from $700-$800 for Basic to $1,500 plus to go back to ProSeries. I have filld out the enhancement request every year. Do you think this forum would get the message accross. I need the first two enhancments at a minimum for about $1,000.John

I agree with your sentiments. For pdf :
(a) have tried pdf factory -- very nice and well priced
(b) printed to mirosoft image printer -- which is part of Windows XP and Vista. This works well even though the files are a bit large but the real issue is this is image file and cannot be searched or commented/ marked etc.
(c) Printed to microsoft image printer and then imported into adobe Acrobat Pro --- now I could stich files together, select pages and page order but best of all it is small file and searechable. Annotation possible. Also I can encrypt with RSA two key system -- no body but the sending and receiving parties only can view the file. Can apply full rights/privilages. It is a clunky solution but the results are excellent.

AND YES Intuit Prosereis needs to give us some pdf support.

It is actually fairly simple to access all of the 'full' Proseries features in Basic. After you have printed the returns; use the restore command in file maintenance in Pro, You now have access to creating PDF's, client letters, and next year's organizer. I print my file copy in basic and then use PRO for everything else.

I thought I would be charged a PPR fee if I try to print in ProSeries?
